On the morning of August 5, Right Beside Us: Selected Works from the 2nd Hanin Children's Instant Camera Photography Exhibition officially opened in the Red Hall at the Kulangsu Center for Contemporary Art (KCCA).
Young photographers, parents and art educators from across China gathered on Gulangyu Island to mark the opening of this special exhibition celebrating the way children see the world.
At the opening ceremony, Yang Zhifei, Chief Curator of the PLOP! Children Art Festival, thanked everyone who contributed to the creation, judging and presentation of the exhibition.
Speaking on behalf of the judging panel, Lao San shared what had impressed her most during the selection process. She noted that adults often travel far in search of beautiful scenery, believing that poetry lies somewhere in the distance. For children, however, their poetry is right beside them.
In addition to the competition's selected works, the exhibition features a dedicated presentation of Hanin's charitable photography initiative. It includes photographs created by children from Qinghai, Guizhou and other regions, as well as children with autism and other children with special needs. The project gives children from a wider range of backgrounds an opportunity to express themselves through photography and share how they see the world.

After arriving at Neicuo'ao Ferry Terminal, walk to the Gulangyu Academy of Fine Arts. Visitors are advised to enter the campus through the North Gate or West Gate.
Once inside the campus, head to the Main Building, using Xiao Shengsheng—the Hanin IP character—as a visual landmark. The exhibition is located in the gallery inside the Main Building.
