Hanin Captures Young Athletes' Milestones at 2026 War Horse Kids Race

· News

From October 2 to 4, 2026, the Beijing leg of the War Horse Kids Race Series, a national youth obstacle racing competition inspired by modern pentathlon, brought together more than 1,000 families at Reignwood Pine Valley near the Great Wall in Beijing, China. Open to children aged 4 to 14, the event challenged young competitors through a series of obstacles testing their strength, agility, balance and determination.

Hanin's home printing products were featured as designated products for the event, helping families preserve memorable race-day moments. At the venue, Hanin offered an instant photography experience where young athletes could take home printed photographs of their achievements, while selected competitors received V1 Smart Inkjet Printers in recognition of their performances.

In October, flags fluttered and cheers filled the air beneath the Great Wall. Families gathered at Reignwood Pine Valley as young competitors tackled obstacles, crossed the finish line and brought an energetic start to the National Day holiday.

On the opening day, competitors in three age groups set off in waves, taking on challenges involving vaulting, climbing, crawling, carrying weights and maintaining balance.

The course featured four teams inspired by the Four Symbols of Chinese mythology: the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise. Themed checkpoints brought these traditional figures into the race, giving children a playful way to engage with Chinese culture.

Chinese ultratrail runner Zhao Jiaju, winner of the 2026 Tor des Géants 330 km race in Italy, also attended the opening ceremony. He sounded the starting horn and encouraged the young competitors to enjoy running and keep going after setbacks.

A Photo to Mark a Moment of Growth

For many of the children, this was their first obstacle race. Some fell in the mud, brushed themselves off and continued running. Others crossed the finish line with an older brother or sister by their side.

The expressions of tension and relief as the competitors reached the finish line—and the smiles they gave their parents after overcoming an obstacle—were equally moving for the families watching from the sidelines.

To preserve these moments, Hanin created a dedicated instant camera experience area at the event. It quickly became one of the most popular stops for young competitors, giving families an opportunity to turn race-day achievements into photographs they could take home immediately.

Equipped with a 1/3-inch sensor and dye-sublimation printing technology, the Hanin M6 Pro Instant Print Camera captures vivid, true-to-life colour and produces a physical photograph on the spot.

Its 1.8-inch touchscreen allows users to preview their shots before printing, while 15 built-in filters offer creative ways to personalize race-day memories.

Using the HeyPhoto app, parents can also print additional photographs from their smartphone galleries after the race, arrange images into collages and create AR video prints. These features make it possible to bring the day's memories together in a personal keepsake album.

Growth Continues Beyond the Finish Line

The three-day event came to a close, but the children's growth continued beyond the finish line.

To recognise the determination and competitive spirit shown by the young athletes, Hanin awarded V1 Smart Inkjet Printers to selected participants who delivered outstanding performances.

The Hanin V1 is approximately one-third the size of a conventional printer, with a footprint comparable to five smartphones laid flat, making it easy to fit into home living and study spaces.

Black-and-white and colour pages print at the same speed, with a full-colour A4 page completed in as little as six seconds. Its high-capacity cartridge is easy to replace without messy refilling. The V1 also offers low-cost monochrome printing.

In China, the HerePrint app provides learning materials and extensive question banks covering primary, junior high and senior high school subjects. The focus and follow-through demonstrated on the racecourse can therefore continue as children return to their everyday studies.

The race taught its young competitors the courage to get back up after a fall. The meaning of the War Horse Kids Race Series extends beyond the competition itself: by combining sport with holistic development, it encourages children to explore their potential through a variety of physical challenges and carry the drive they discover on the course into daily life.

This commitment also reflects Hanin's continuing focus on children and families. From helping families preserve tangible memories of childhood to giving more children the tools to record the world and express themselves, Hanin applies its printing expertise to experiences that accompany young people as they grow.

Through practical printing technology, Hanin helps families preserve meaningful milestones and give every moment of effort and perseverance a lasting form. Easier Printing. Better Life.
